SOLVD Instrument Solutions Inc is your independent service partner for high value laboratory instruments including plate readers, plate washers, spectrophotometers and screening systems.

With over 10 years experience offering indepedent options to sometimes costly, sometimes unresponsive OEM; SOLVD is a trusted partner for preventative maintenance (PM), repair service, qualifications such as IQOQPQ and well as cost effective options for service maintenance agreements.

SOLVD engineers are key contributors for companies looking to control and reduce cost of instrument maintenance while improving documentation compliance. SOLVD offers as-found testing as well as many speciality validations and reporting packages that the OEM simply won't support.

Often times good maintanence reduces and/or eliminates the need for repairs that include replacement parts. Too often engineers for the OEMs simply swap parts rather than provide "old school" service to get things working properly.

Do you work with the manufacturers?

SOLVD is an independent company and has no relationships with any of the OEMs unless specifically stated otherwise. In most cases we compete with the OEM for providing service on instruments. Our team leaders are very open and transparent about when 3rd party service is a good option and when to stick with the OEM. For many larger labs and/or qualified (GMP) labs we recommend using the OEM for certain services and 3rd party for certain services. A Hybrid approach can be a solution that improves responsiveness, controls costs and maintains the highest quality of service.

The core team at SOLVD has a combined 100+ years of service in the biotech/lab space working for multiple manufacturers as well as asset management companies.

What do I give up by using 3rd party service?

Most 3rd party service companies can't or don't buy parts from the OEM. Often times the OEM restricts sales of parts to resellers and 3rd party service providers. Some 3rd party companies can offer qualifications and full PM service with full repair service. It's very helpful to ask any 3rd party service provider if they offer IQOQPQ service for the instrument in question. If not, can they offer repair service? Finally make sure to ask for a copy of a typical service report for a preventative maintenance visit on the instrument in question.
